Five friends had lunch here on a wet Friday in December. Classic haddock and chips, fish pie with wilted greens, beef cheeks with mash and red wine jus and a classic cheese & bacon burger. Everything was beautifully cooked, really delicious for the beef cheeks eater and the fish pie eaters, both agree lovely food but could have done with tiny bit more sauce/jus etc. The burger was lovely - the bacon really stood out making it extra delicious - juicy and plenty of burger sauce!! Service was friendly and efficient. The olives we nibbled on while we waited were lovely - which might sound ridiculous but honestly the best olives we’d tasted! We all had one alcoholic drink with lunch, shared bread and olives to start and our bill was just over £30 each. Nice atmosphere, warm and comfortable.
We had a meal eve of New Year's Eve... It was a very goof choice! The food was brilliant and the service was Outstanding! Busy night for sure... But Alex was an absolute star on the night! ,Future Management Candidate? Well we think so! Thank you so much.. We shall return on our next Cotswolds visit!
We had a drink here and then returned on NYE for dinner, which was delicious Top notch food and service. Well done to the team we had a great night and the food was superb, thank you. Oh and the dogs were welcomed
Me and my partner stayed here a couple of weeks ago. It's a lovely pub with great service, the room was clean and cosy. We both had a great night's sleep.
Visited the Pheasant this evening as was absolutely blown away, the service was amazing, the food had to be the best I have had in a very long time to the point I had to ask the staff if the chef was willing to give me their recipe for their slow cooked beef cheek dish and they were. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and even made my 3 year feel noticed which a lot of places don't do. I will definitely be visiting again.
Lovely pub/restaurant half way up the hill in Burford. The food was great in the restaurant and the atmosphere relaxed. Service was hit and miss as had to wait for menus a couple of times because they got distracted and forgot us. All In all a nice meal out
So good to see the Beaujolais Nouveau tradition back in vogue locally. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the Golden Pheasant celebrating the arrival of this year’s offering. The French themed food was delicious, the fire glowed and the George Duboeuf beaujolais was wonderfully smooth. Thank you to Gareth and all for your warm hospitality.
Stayed here for two nights and could not fault anything. Room was cosey, breakfast was excellent and the staff were superb. The doggy goody bag on arrival was the perfect start to our stay with our dog Otto.
